Mitrefinch are bringing a range of benefits to Welsh Slate including:
- Attendance tracking capable of operating across multiple sites
- Reducing costly admin burden
- Simple way to produce tailored reports
- Key in ensuring safety of on-site staff
Welsh Slate has established itself as one of the country’s leading natural slate producers and now operates across three quarries.
Straightforward and time saving solution
The company was looking for a clocking system that would be able to check employees’ shifts in real-time, as well as being alerted to absences and track shift changes.
After research, Welsh Slate approached Mitrefinch to implement its Time and Attendance system to record worker attendance across all of its sites. The aim was to reduce the amount of admin involved in producing data for HR.
Meet the needs
Sarah Lloyd, wages administrator at Welsh Slate, explained it was important any system would be straightforward to use. It was also essential the information collected could be processed to meet Welsh Slate’s needs.
“The Mitrefinch system was selected due to its ease of use for employees using the swipe terminals and administrators accessing the wide range of management information that it provides. It offered considerable savings in both paperwork and time compared to the previous system we were using.
We downloaded the data from the terminals daily via our modem connection. The hours are then processed to employees’ individual clocking cards. This process saves us a lot of time as a record of all hours worked is available immediately via the connection, enabling us to monitor absence more closely. In the event of an emergency procedure we also have an instant record of exactly who is on site.”
Welsh Slate enjoys multiple additional benefits.
One of the key features that has been welcomed by Welsh Slate is the ability to generate a wealth of management information. Using one Mitrefinch solution, the company quickly produce absence reports to monitor staffing levels, as well as identify any potential problems.
