Dogs “could boost workplace productivity”

Published: August 4, 2016

Dogs could play an important role in increasing employee productivity, according to new research.

A poll by social app Skout found the majority of users in the US back the idea of being able to bring their dog into work.

Seventy-four per cent felt it would make their happier in the workplace, while 51 per cent believe it would paint the employer in a positive light.

Christian Wiklund, co-founder and chief executive officer at Skout, said: “These survey results echo the many benefits we experience of having friendly canines in our office. As an organisation that helps people connect and meet new friends, we can’t help but think about man’s best friend too.”

There was also strong support for workers to bring other pets into the workplace, with 22 per cent backing a Take Your Cat to Work Day.
