Whitehall Garden Centre - Case Study
Whitehall Garden Centre is one of the largest plant retailers in the South West of England. They also sell an excellent range of gifts, reclaimed oak furniture, houseplants, local produce, and lots more from their two outlets in Lacock, near Chippenham and Whitchurch, near Bristol.
Whitehall chose Mitrefinch’s integrated TMS and HR system to replace their existing Zeus system after assessing 4 different solutions. It covers all 200 employees at both sites who clock in and out using Mitrefinch’s standard clocking terminal. Staff can not only register their attendance by clocking, but by using function keys on the clock they can register their time against specific departments, which is useful if they work temporarily in a different department.

She also runs reports to check clock in times, a rota report to verify overtime, and a Payroll Summary report. The system is easy to use, and allows Whitehall to design their own reports.
The Garden Centre has found there are many advantages to using the Mitrefinch System. All the managers and directors are aware of staffing levels, and they can keep electronic copies of contracts, certificates etc. in one secure, easily accessible place.
Monitoring and reporting on absence in a clear and graphical manner is another benefit. Mandy told us, ‘If staff are absent a lot and disciplinary action is needed we can run reports to show them the exact days and times they were off.’
Following the installation Whitehall Garden Centre has been looked after by the Support desk and Mandy has found the service they provide ‘excellent’.
