Skills shortages have cast a shadow over the UK recruitment market, according to new findings. The latest JobsOutlook survey by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) showed that although the vast majority (more than eight in ten) think economic conditions are improving, many employers were still having trouble finding the right staff members.

HR is a department that continues to remain elusive to many employees, according to new findings. A report published by YouGov on behalf of People Management (PM) revealed that a quarter (25 per cent) said they have no idea what role HR actually plays in a company.

The UK is the third best country when it comes to HR and recruitment, according to new findings. A report unveiled by Glassdoor and written in conjunction with Llewellyn Consulting found that while jobseekers in countries such as Spain, Portugal and Greece struggled to find employment, those in Estonia, Norway and the UK fared much better.
