Many managers are unwittingly preventing gender equality in the workplace, according to a new study. Research published by the Fawcett Society revealed that a small group of decision-makers dubbed ‘barrier bosses’ are likely to hold back women that are working for them.

The latest JobsOutlook survey by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) showed that although the vast majority (more than eight in ten) think economic conditions are improving, many employers were still having trouble finding the right staff members.

The UK is the third best country when it comes to HR and recruitment, according to new findings. A report unveiled by Glassdoor and written in conjunction with Llewellyn Consulting found that while jobseekers in countries such as Spain, Portugal and Greece struggled to find employment, those in Estonia, Norway and the UK fared much better.
